Dr Oliver Neill
Biography
Originally from the northeast of Scotland, Oliver gained his Master’s and PhD degrees in physics at the University of Glasgow in 2020 and 2025 respectively. His PhD developed new hardware and optimisation processes for photonic neuromorphic computing, tackling the hard problem of efficiently scaling compute for AI.
His current research is at the intersection of neuromorphics and brain sensing, where he combines EEG, fNIRS and modern AI methods to develop wearable brain reading technology. A key application is improving outcomes in concussion patients, and he is currently Entrepreneurial Lead on the ICURe and InfinityG accelerator programs, commercialising research outputs in this space.
